The TLC Healthcare Kids Dash is not a timed event and there are no placegetters (1st, 2nd or 3rd) awarded as it is participation event.

Swim Information:
Marshalling:

Marshalling will occur just to the side of the start line, located to the south of the main finish area. Please ensure that you are near the start line at least 15 minutes prior to your race start time. Please assist race officials by wearing your swim cap in the marshalling area and listening to instructions. Remember to check the swim wave times prior.

The Start:

At the direction of the Race officials, you will then be marshalled on the start line.

The Course:

Carefully read the map of the course.

  • The 200m (7-9yrs) Course is an 'M' shaped course. Where swimmers will start of the beach and wade/swim to an orange buoy, then turn left and head back towards the beach. There will be a pole/cone on the beach to run up to and around and then wade/swim back out to the second orange buoy. After turning left and the orange buoy you will then head for the beach and the large blue finishing arch.

  • The 300m (10-12yrs) Course consists of a yellow and red buoy that you swim around. From the start on the beach you will swim out and turn left at the yellow buoy and head north for the first of the two red buoys. You will turn left at this first red buoy and head for the large blue finish arch.

For both swims, the course will be lined by plenty of water safety personnel (in orange vests), with tubes and boards, there to guide, encourage and assist if needed. There will also be a power craft (Inflatable Rescue Boat and/or Jet Ski) overseeing the course should anyone need to be taken out of the water and returned to the beach.

The Finish:

As soon as you have crossed under the finish line structure proceed quickly up the beach to the right to clear the way for other finishers.

Safety:

Anglesea SLSC provides the highest level of water safety per capita of all the swims in the area. Water Safety consists of Inflatable Rescue Boats and Rescue Boards, all manned by competent Surf Lifesavers together with a Medical Centre on land. If you feel you cannot go on, wave your hand over your head and you will be assisted immediately.
