A-Z Plumbing 400m Dash for Cash

The A-Z Plumbing 400m Dash for Cash is an elite, invitation-only event to be held at the end of the day so that spectators can watch the top competitors race. The total prize pool is $3000 with both the male and female place getters receiving the following:

  • First Prize - $800

  • Second Prize - $500

  • Third Prize - $200

In addition, the top 8 finishers per gender will receive a free entry to return in 2027 (for the 1.2km and Dash for Cash only).

However, there is a twist, swimmers who wish to compete in the Dash for Cash must also participate prior in their age group 1.2km event and/or alternatively the earlier 2.5km event to be eligible.

How to qualify and enter?

To qualify for the Dash for Cash event, you must explicitly opt into the category and meet strict performance standards. Competitors who wish to compete must:

  • Indicate this in the entry system or request permission from the Race Director well in advance of the day of the race.

  • Submit an Elite Estimated Time as part of the entry system. To be considered for the Dash for Cash, you must submit a highly competitive elite time for a 400m distance.

  • As part of the vetting process, you may need to provide official times from recognised pool events (such as State/National Championships), Surf Life Saving carnivals, or recent high-level events of a similar distance.

The Race Director or approved delegate will determine the Dash for Cash swimmers. The Race Director's decision will be final.

Entry cost: Only the cost of entry for your earlier swim/s, either the 1.2km, 2.5km or both the 1.2km & 2.5km distances.

There is a cap of 20 swimmers per gender.
